Company: AIL Leasing München AG, a €500M premium-automotive leasing and finance group. Over 40 years in the market, brand-independent, luxury cars and classics, with its own industry software (the E-Autoseller) and the Traumgarage as its central sales surface. milbo: the bidirectional API layer that turned an isolated platform into a distribution engine, a partial rebuild of the Traumgarage site, custom fields and data enrichment. Tech mandate, end to end.

The Ambition

AIL came to us through Schaltkulisse. We had earned enough trust there that, when one of Germany's largest luxury-vehicle leasing groups needed help, Schaltkulisse simply passed us along. AIL is a 40-year-old, €500 million house, and an introduction like that carries real weight.

There was no long negotiation and no pitch theatre. The work already spoke for itself through Schaltkulisse, they liked the energy we brought, and the answer was simply: we are doing this together.

For all its size, AIL had no in-house IT, and its main sales platform was running on its own little island. A company that size, and no one inside it to turn the technology into an advantage.

The Build

“A €500 million company, no in-house IT, and a real need for people who knew how.”

AIL's sales ran on its own software, the E-Autoseller, with the Traumgarage as the showroom on top. Good tools, sitting alone. A car listed in one place stayed in one place.

So we built the bridge out: a fully dynamic, bidirectional API layer connecting the E-Autoseller to mobile.de, to milbo's own distribution, and to the other platforms that matter. One upload now becomes many listings. Inventory, custom fields and data enrichment all run from the center, so a listing carries more than its raw spec, it carries what actually makes it sell. We rebuilt parts of the Traumgarage site too, with real filter logic across vehicle types, categories and special features. The point was never the tech for its own sake. Every interface was measured by one thing: how fast an asset gets listed, and how ready it is to sell when it lands. All of it slotted into a grown, regulated structure without breaking what was already there.

What Followed

The mandate is delivered and now in maintenance. AIL's platform is no longer an island: a car entered once goes out everywhere it should, listings carry the data that makes them sell, and the whole thing runs from one source of truth. One upload, n distributions.

AIL came to us on Schaltkulisse's word, and a €500 million group does not hand its distribution to a studio it does not trust. It began over drinks in Miami with the man who runs the place, and it never stayed strictly business: dinners at Lake Como, the odd favor, paths crossing again at a wedding. If you are an established company sitting on software that works but sits alone, the job is rarely a rebuild. It is connecting what you already have into something that sells. The next step is a call.

AIL
“milbo played a crucial role in developing our new car backend system and delivered a complete redesign of the Traumgarage section — technical excellence, strong communication, and a proactive mindset.”
